Marauders, Upminster and Esher in 3 – way Tournament
Marauders Vets took on Upminster and Esher on Sunday on the luxuriously verdant Hibernians pitch. Upminster, who had a playing squad twice as big as the other two teams, came out on top, winning both their games. Marauders ran them close in the last game, but could not cope with the rolling substitutions of Upminster’s younger players in the second half. Esher were comprehensively beaten by Upminster, as they tired from having to play their two games back-to-back. In the first game, Marauders contained wave after wave of attacks by the bigger Esher team, but finally conceded. Afterwards, a jolly good time was had at the Marsa clubhouse.
